ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A predicate felon faces more charges after police say he threatened to shoot officers during their response to a domestic call on DeJonge Street.

Officers say they were responding to domestic call around 3:30 Friday morning when they learned the man involved, 35-year-old Ronnie Bridgewater, had a gun and threatened to shoot responding officers. One officer saw Bridgewater running and holding his waistband as they parked their patrol car at the corner of Remington and DeJonge streets.

That officer starting running after him, and says Bridgewater threw a loaded .22 caliber handgun on the ground. He was arrested on Clifford Avenue, somewhere between Conkey Avenue and Lill Street, and brought to the Monroe County Jail.

Bridgewater is from Henrietta, and faces the following charges:

Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree

RPD says Bridgewater has been convicted of two felonies and has eight other criminal convictions – that’s where the second criminal possession of a weapon charge comes from.

He was arraigned in Rochester City Court and is being held without bail.
