Arizona Cardinals linebacker J.J. Russell was taken to a hospital for evaluation of a head and neck injury following a collision at training camp on Thursday, the team announced.

Russell had collided with safety Kitan Crawford during a 7-on-7 drill on the second day of practice which caused training camp to stop. Crawford was able to get up following the collision.

Russell signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals in May. He previously spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In 30 games, he has registered 49 tackles and a sack.
