An amber weather warning was issued on Saturday as some areas witnessed up to 100mm of rainfall within a few hours.

He told The i Paper: “When the sun comes out, the mixture of sunshine and warm moist air will trigger heavy thunderstorms in the East. With the thunderstorms, it’s quite hit and miss.
