Here at home, children at the Mendon Child Care Center held a bake sale to raise money for the families who lost children in the floods in Texas.
In just two days, they raised more than $800 dollars.
“They were so excited and they were so proud and they were so polite and helpful. And one of the pictures I think has the toy cash register that we used because we didn’t have a cash box because we forgot about that part and our director ran into one of our rooms and grabbed a toy cash register and it worked perfectly,” said Heather Ryan from Mendon Child Care.
The money will be split between Kerr County, Texas, and World Central Kitchen, which gives meals and water for disaster victims.
Ryan says she hopes their bake sale inspires others to do the same.
