ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Yellow Alert continues through Wednesday evening with the continued threat for some more storms with locally heavy rain. A few storms may also produce gusty winds through about 11PM, before the storm chances fizzle. Areas that haven’t seen rain are also still dealing with temperatures near 90 and dew points in the 70s, making it feel more like the mid to upper 90s. That being said, neighborhoods that have seen rain are enjoying more tolerable temperatures. The Yellow Alert will expire Wednesday night as the storms move away.
A cold front will arrive on Thursday, bringing a refreshing change to our weather, but it’ll take some time. The first half of Thursday will remain warm and humid ahead of that front. We may see a few isolated showers or thunder, but much of the day will be dry. The front comes through late afternoon into the evening, with a spotty shower, and the wind picking up a bit. This will be followed by dew points plunging back into the 50s by Friday morning. This will set the stage for much more comfortable air on Friday and at least to start the weekend.
Speaking of the weekend, Saturday should be largely fine, with sunshine giving way to some afternoon clouds. Those clouds are associated with our next warm front, which may bring a few showers late Saturday and into early Sunday, before clearing.
