VICTOR, N.Y. — The Fishers Fire District is holding a meeting on Wednesday night to allow the public to comment on the ongoing debate about whether to dissolve the department.
The department covers 26 square miles of Victor, including Eastview Mall. As News10NBC has covered, the board of fire commissioners is seeking to dissolve the department because of financial challenges. Other fire departments would fill the void, but several departments have expressed concerns about taking on more responsibilities.
Wednesday’s meeting will take place at Station #2 on 380 High Street. The board says it welcomes community input and attendance, but attendees will need to enter the meeting in waves because of limited capacity. The first group, residents of the Fishers Fire District only, will enter at 7 p.m. The next group, residents of the Victor Fire District, will enter around 8 p.m. The final group, all other people who want to speak or listen, will enter around 9 p.m.
