ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Older adults learned some important skills for using a smartphone or tablet on Monday during a free class at Eastview Mall.
The class was the brainchild of Bryan Rogers, an AT&T store manager at Eastview Mall. He says he spends much of his day helping people learn how to use their devices, so he decided to host free classes.
The class took place at the empty store space in the Macy’s wing. Barbara Malley, an attendee from East Rochester, shared her thoughts on the class.
“I just think it was wonderful,” Malley said. “They answered all my questions. They made it really simple. It’s not easy for us seniors to understand all this technology we weren’t privy to so it’s wonderful they did this. And yes I’m very happy I came.”
Rogers says he’s open to taking the classes to churches, community centers, or senior facilities for anyone who would like to learn the basics of using a smart device.
