Six Flags Great America reinstating chaperone policy in coming days ...Middle East

News by : (NBC Chicago) -

Six Flags Great America will reintroduce a chaperone policy later this week, the amusement park announced Monday.

Guests 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter and stay in the amusement park or Hurricane Harbor, according to an announcement on its Facebook page.

The policy will be in effect all day from Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20. Each day after, it will be enforced from 5 p.m. to close, according to Six Flags.

Chaperones must present a valid government-issued ID at entry, remain inside the park for the duration of the visit and be reachable by phone at all times, according to the announcement.

News of the policy’s reinstatement comes one week after shots were fired in the amusement park’s parking lot. It remains unclear if the incident was a factor in reimplementing the policy.

Last fall, the amusement park instated a similar policy for teens and kids looking to attend its popular Fright Fest.
