ROCHESTER, N.Y. – One-ROC and the West Main Gateway Project team will hold an information session on Monday for business owners who want to apply for a city grant.
The session takes place at 5 p.m. at the Visual Studies Workshop on King Street. The grant program is open to businesses located between Broad and Genesee streets. Owners can apply for grants up to $250,000 or to have 90% of their costs covered, whichever is less.
A couple of months ago, News10NBC spoke with business owners in the area about how they would use the money.
“Well, we need a lot of brickwork that could be done. There’s a lot of interior work that could be done to make that building really shine again,” said Alex Tahou, owner of Nick Tahou’s. “So this grant can help not only us, but perhaps a lot of other people brighten up their places.”
In total, the city has put $10 million on the table. $4 million will go to public projects and the remaining $6 million will be dispersed as grants.
