Oklahoma baseball has landed a transfer commitment from across rivalry lines.
Former Texas pitcher Drew Rerick committed to the Sooners on Thursday afternoon. Rerick just wrapped up his freshman season with the Longhorns but will head north of the Red River to continue his college career in 2026.

— Drew Rerick (@drewrerick) July 10, 2025Rerick played sparingly for Texas as a freshman. He allowed 7 earned runs in 7 innings of work as he adjusted to the college game.
Despite those lackluster results as a freshman, there’s plenty of optimism that Rerick could develop into an impact arm at this level. D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers described Rerick as having a “massive frame with big-time velocity and upside.”
Listed at 6-foot-5, Rerick arrives in Norman with plenty of prospect pedigree. According to Perfect Game, he was the No. 58 overall player and the No. 16 right-handed pitcher in the country for his high school class.
Rerick was initially committed to Texas A&M but flipped to Texas after coach Jim Schlossnagle took the Longhorns’ head coaching job last offseason. Here’s some highlights from a showcase where Rerick pitched back in the summer of 2024:
