ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Looking for a place to enjoy the summer weather on Thursday? There’s so much happening around Rochester, including the kickoff of Party in the Park, a chance to watch baseball with your pet, and a local celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. Here’s what to know.

Party in the Park kicks off

The 28th season of Party in the Park kicks off on Thursday. Fleetwood Mac tribute band “The 7 Wonders” and Zach Bryan tribute band “Highway Boys” will be the first to take the stage this season.

The outdoor concerts will take place every Thursday at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park through Aug. 14. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 6:30 p.m. Food and craft beer vendors will be there.

General admission tickets are $7 and children 12 and under are free. You can get tickets here. Here’s the full lineup for the season:

July 10: Seven Wonders: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac & Highway Boys: A Tribute to Zach Bryan July 17: Cruel Summer: A Live Tribute Band to Taylor Swift & BB Dang July 25: Melvin Seals and JGB & Dogs in a Pile July 31: Ripe & Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime Aug. 7: Andy Frasco and the Un & Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs Aug. 14: Eddie 9volt with special guest TBA.

Bark in the Park at Innovative Field

People have a chance to watch a Red Wings game with the dog on Thursday. Bark in the Park returns to Innovative Field in collaboration with Lollypop Farm. Fans can sit with their dogs at the section in left-center field and the grass berm down the third base line. Fans with dogs can enter Innovative Field using the Plymouth Avenue gates.

General admission tickets are $11 in advance and $13 on game day, but all dogs can enter for free. Before the game, there will be an on-field dog parade around the warning track. The first pitch is at 6:45 p.m. You can get tickets to the games and see the Red Wings’ full schedule here.

Pride Day at MAG

The annual Pride Celebration Day at the Memorial Art Gallery is set to take place on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. The family-friendly evening is free and open to the public. Attendees can enjoy free museum admission, explore the galleries through 8 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to show their Pride by dressing in rainbow attire and gathering with friends and family in MAG’s Centennial Sculpture Park. Picnicking on the MAG lawn is welcome. You can see information here.

Family movie night at Frederick Douglass R-Center

The annual R-Night Out Summer Series kicks off on Thursday with a family movie night at the Frederick Douglass R-Center on South Avenue. It runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The City of Rochester is organizing all kinds of free events for families this summer. The events include music, games, crafts, a photo booth, and carnival snacks. Here’s the schedule for R-Night Out:
