Real Madrid’s hopes of reaching the Club World Cup final were dashed inside ten minutes by a rampant Paris Saint-Germain.
The French giants produced a repeat of their clinical start to the Champions League final, which saw them thump Inter Milan 5-0 in May.

Ruiz then added his second before the half hour mark to all but eliminate Real Madrid.
Luis Enrique’s side took full advantage as they punished a string of individual errors from their hapless opponents.
The first saw Dembele snatch the ball off Raul Asencio inside the error before being brought down by Thibaut Courtois.
Ruiz was able to latch onto the loose ball to stroke his side into the lead.
His provider then turned scorer three minutes later after dispossessing Antonio Rudiger.
The French forward then raced through on goal to slot the ball under Courtois.
Those goal involvements were enough for Dembele to achieve a feat which has not been seen since records began.
He becomes the first player to be involved in two goals against Real Madrid inside the opening nine minutes of a match since at least the 2002/03 season, when Opta records began.
Dembele also now has 34 goals and 15 assists to his name this season in addition to a treble with PSG.

However, PSG’s third goal instead came from a flowing passing move instead of a Real Madrid mistake.
After cutting through the opposition from defence to attack, the ball fell to Ruiz in front of goal as he calmly found the bottom corner.
The strike came after just 24 minutes, the first time they had been leading by three so early since April 2018.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos had not conceded as many so early in a match since November 2003, when they were beaten 4-1 by Sevilla.
Despite an improved second half performance, Real Madrid’s woes deepened further late on.
Substitute Goncalo Ramos put the result beyond any doubt three minutes from time as he blasted past Courtois from close range after brilliant skills from Bradley Barcola.
PSG will now meet Chelsea at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, bidding to scoop the $40million (£30m) prize pot available for the winner in Sunday’s final.
