The star of the show is the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which may resemble last year's Fold 6, but has undergone several improvements. To start, Samsung made the Fold 7 even thinner: The foldable is now just 8.9mm thick when folded—compared to 12.1mm on the Fold 6—and 4.2mm thick when unfolded. The phone is significantly lighter at just 7.62 ounces (216g), when compared to both the heavier Fold 6, which is 8.43 ounces (239g) and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is 7.69 ounces (218g).
Powering the Z Fold 7 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip with 12GB of RAM. The chip should provide plenty of power for both productivity and gaming. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The battery in the Fold 7 stays at 4,400 mAh, but supports 25W Super Fast Wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 start today, and the phone will ship on July 25th.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7
Powering the Flip 7 is the Samsung Exynos 2500 chip with 12GB of RAM. Unlike the Fold 7, the Flip 7 gets a battery bump, shipping with a 4,300 mAh battery. (That's a modest increase from the Flip 6's 4,000 mAh battery.) Just like the Fold 7, the Flip 7 has IP48 water and dust resistance.
