Katie Taylor is putting her undisputed light-welterweight title on the line again on in the early hours of Saturday morning as she completes her trilogy of fights against Amanda Serrano.
Taylor has won both of their previous bouts, the first by split decision at Madison Square Garden back in April 2022, before victory by unanimous decision in Arlington, Texas in November last year the last time each of them entered the ring.
The Irishwoman was the undisputed and undefeated lineal world lightweight champion from 2019 to 2024, and has held the undisputed and lineal world super lightweight championship since 2023 which she took all five belts off Chantelle Cameron in their rematch.
The 39-year-old carries a 24-1 record into Friday night’s bout, which will be fought at light-welterweight, just as her last three have, including her second fight with Serrano, a division up from their initial meeting at lightweight.
Serrano, the current unified featherweight champion, is the only female to have won world titles in more than four weight classes, having held nine major world title records across a record seven different divisions.
The Puerto Rican will be hoping it’s third time lucky for her against Taylor, who she lost to in her last fight in Texas, taking her current record to 47-3-1 for the 36-year-old.
