Any fans of Halo Top know that, usually, low-cal ice cream can be a bit on the expensive side, and it often comes with major consequences in the bathroom later. The Ninja Creami, after the admittedly high-ish entry fee, fixes both of those problems.

While home ice-cream makers aren't a new thing, the Creami is unique in how it works. Essentially, it's a miniature Pacojet, an $8,000 piece of restaurant equipment that uses a specialized paddle to microshave pre-frozen ingredients into creams, soups, and sauces. The Creami, at 2% of the cost, does the same thing, but just for ice creams and other similar frozen desserts.

This is what's made the gadget go viral on platforms like TikTok over the past few years. With as few ingredients as milk and flavored protein powder, you can make a pretty convincing imitation of, say, your typical store brand ice cream, but for much cheaper and with fewer calories. Throw in some zero sugar Jell-o packets and maybe a few extracts or mix-ins, and baby, you've got a Ben & Jerry's-level stew going.

Plus, it's just fun to watch it go: I've got recipes on my phone for chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, cookies and cream ice cream, dulce de leche ice cream—I've found so many fun things I can do with it that I actually prefer the low-calorie ice creams I make with it than those I get from eating out.

Right now, you can get a Ninja Creami and two pints (yes, you do need special containers for this) at Walmart for $169, which is a small cut off the usual price of $199. It might not be the biggest savings, but if you have the type of sweet tooth I do, it'll still pay for itself in no time.

Walmart’s Prime Day competition sale begins at midnight on July 8 and will include deals up to 50% off. It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+.

Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own. It’s an especially good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
