During a July 2025 interview with That's Classic, Dante noted that he played the character Maab during a Season 2 episode of the original Star Trek television series, which aired from 1966 to 1969. He stated that the episode, titled "Friday Child" and his character, a Capellan warrior, have remained popular among Star Trek fans. In addition, he said he has continued to be a guest at Star Trek conventions, where he has interacted with passionate fans.

He went on to say that "it's always a joy to see Star Trek fans."

During the That's Classic interview, Dante said he and the rest of the cast had some difficulty filming the Season 2 Star Trek episode. He explained they were filming in a ravine while it was 117 degrees. He said because of the uncomfortable heat, he did not interact too much with the show's stars, which included William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, and Nichelle Nichols.

"They went their own way. And we went our own way. Because of the difficulty and the heat, it didn't lead to any recreational time to be joshing around and having fun," said Dante in the interview.
