Umran Malik grabbed headlines during IPL 2022 with his express pace over 150 kmph. He was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹75 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, an injury ruled him out of the tournament. However, Umran remained with the KKR squad to undergo rehabilitation.

Should be available for the entire upcoming domestic season," Mohsin Kamal wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Umran Malik Made his International Debut in 2023
After a promising start, his form dipped post-mid-2023. He last played for India in July 2023 and struggled in IPL 2024. The fast bowler played just one match in 2025, where SunRisers Hyderabad reached the final.
