LA JOLLA – The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival will return for its 17th year on Oct. 11-12 with expanded offerings. In addition to its juried art show and Wine & Beer Garden, this year’s festival will introduce a “Local Spotlight Artist” honoring a La Jolla-based creative, a reimagined Geppetto’s Family Art & Science Center featuring hands-on STEAM activities and a VIP ticket tier for the Wine & Beer Garden.

Local spotlight artist

The 2025 festival will debut its Local Spotlight Artist program, highlighting an emerging or established La Jolla-based artist each year. The inaugural honoree is Taylor Dunfee, a photographer and tattoo artist whose personal story of recovery following a near-fatal motorcycle accident has led to a powerful new body of illustrative work. His art will be exhibited alongside more than 170 artists from the U.S. and Mexico, showcasing mediums such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography and glasswork.

Expanded family art, science center

The Geppetto’s Family Art & Science Center will have a new name and an expanded mission. Formerly focused on arts and crafts for young creatives, this year’s rebranded space will offer engaging, hands-on STEAM experiences for children of all ages. Participating organizations include La Jolla Youth Robotics, Living Coast Discovery Center and more, aligning with the festival’s mission to support both art and science programs in local public schools.

VIP wine, beer garden tickets

While the festival is free and open to the public, the Wine & Beer Garden remains a popular ticketed experience for guests 21 and older. In 2025, the festival will introduce VIP tickets, which include 12 tastings, a dedicated VIP entrance and an exclusive limited-edition festival tote. Guests will have access to more than 35 wineries, breweries, distilleries and local restaurants, all set against a backdrop of music and entertainment.

“These new additions reflect our commitment to evolving with our community,” said Brenda Chand, executive director of the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival. “From spotlighting local talent to inspiring the next generation through science and creativity, this year’s festival is more immersive and inclusive than ever before.”

Hosted by the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival Foundation, all proceeds support art, music, science, physical education and technology programs in San Diego Unified public schools. For tickets, sponsorships and more information, visit ljawf.com.
