Most recently, the Tenacious D frontman took part in a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley," and his smooth vocals were so reminiscent of the retiring rocker fans said they could barely hear a difference when he teamed up with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello's son Roman Morello on none other than Randy Rhoads' guitar, Hugo Weiss on the keyboard, Anthrax's Scott Ian's son Revel Young Ian on the bass, and Yoyoka Soma on the drums to recreate the iconic live music video as part of the "Back to the Beginning" lineup that served as the "Crazy Train" singer's final live performance.
One fan was incredibly impressed, noting, "I can never get how effortless Black's voice is for this kind of thing."
"I hear no difference between this and Ozzy's version!" another declared. "This is awesome!"
"Black's voice is very Ozzy-esque. Perfect," another emphasized.
While one fan admitted they weren't "emotionally prepared for" the cover, many were confident it was "hands down the best cover of 'Mr. Crowley,'" with one applauding the fact that Black "absolutely nailed it."
