That happened Saturday, July 5 at Boston’s famed Fenway Park, but it wasn’t just a normal game. Rather, the Savannah Bananas, which are sort of like the baseball equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters, were on the fabled field of dreams when the All-American Rejects surprised fans with a performance.
The band, decked out in Savannah Bananas uniforms, began the surprise mini-set with singer Tyson Ritter breaking into their 2006 hit “Move Along” in the crowd. It had one fan so excited, he tossed his popcorn in the air. Ritter eventually made it onto the field while he was joined by his other bandmates and Bananas players in a joyous celebration that also included performances of the hits “Dirty Little Secret” and “Gives You Hell.”
“Truly honored. Play ball, bananas ?⚾️,” the Rejects responded.
“Dear everyone at the game tonight, how does it feel to be living my dream??,” added another.
“Better than the half time show on the superbowl ???,” yet another posted.
The All-American Rejects are on tour now, with their next stop Monday, July 7 at Cowboys Park in Calgary, Canada. Other notable upcoming dates include a stop on the Warped Tour in Long Beach, Calif. on July 26, and a gig opening for the Jonas Brothers on Aug. 10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
