DENVER (KDVR) -- Multiple fires broke out across the Denver metro area Friday evening, with several reportedly caused by fireworks in Arvada.
Arvada Fire Rescue said in a post on X just after 10 p.m. that its crews are busy responding to "several vegetation fires with multiple reportedly caused by fireworks."
See illegal fireworks? How to report them in the Denver metroThe agency shared a screenshot showing five outside and vegetation fires reported in a matter of 10 minutes. In a follow-up post, AFR said all of those fires had been extinguished.
Firefighters have also been busy in Denver. By around 10:15 p.m. Friday, the Denver Fire Department posted about two fires that crews responded to.
A house fire near Titan Court and Titan Way was visible through the roof eaves. Additional help responded and just before 10:30 p.m. the agency said the fire was designated as under control and out.
Another structure caught fire near 29th Avenue and Zenobia Street. DFD said crews were attacking the fire on the upper level of an apartment from inside the hallways and an aerial platform outside. The fire was extinguished about an hour later and no injuries were reported.
Earlier in the evening, around 7:20 p.m., firefighters in Aurora responded to a garage fire in the 2700 block of Lewiston Street. The fire extended to the home and damaged a neighboring property before it was extinguished.
