LATE actor Michael Madsen solemnly revealed he had many regrets in his personal life, which he said stemmed from his gigantic Hollywood career.

Madsen, who shot to fame in the early 1990s after starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, was found unresponsive in his home in Malibu on Thursday morning.

The late actor appeared to have died from natural causes, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News.

No foul play is suspected, although his manager, Ron Smith, said Madsen died from cardiac arrest. The actor was 67.

Madsen, who was best known for his roles in Tarantino movies like Kill Bill, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was last pictured looking disheveled in April.

His last several years were marred by intense personal troubles, including spousal battery and a messy divorce from his third wife, DeAnna, to whom he had been married for 28 years.

In what eventually was his final interview, Madsen opened up to Before The Fame host Mike Sherman about his struggles in his personal life.

MICHAEL’S REGRETS

When asked by Sherman if he would do anything different in his career, Madsen responded that he would do many things differently in life outside of Hollywood.

“I would do a lot of things differently, but I think things I would do different were a lot more in my personal life,” Madsen said.

“I’ve been married three times. I have six children, and it’s a very, very complicated situation when you try to make a positive personal life against the gigantic career.

“It’s really, really confusing and it can really mess you up.

“There are a lot of things I wouldn’t do different about that. Then again, I mean, you can’t go back and you can’t change anything.

“So there’s no point in thinking about it.”

Sherman, the host of Before The Fame, told The U.S. Sun Madsen was in “really bad shape” when he interviewed him in January for his show.

“[Michael] was doing a Miami Vice reunion thing, and he was in really bad shape, and he was very reluctant to do the interview, but once I started to talk to him and open him up, he got to be really cool,” Sherman said of his chat with the Kill Bill actor.

“I was able to get a good interview. He told me if it wasn’t Tarantino, he’d wouldn’t be who he is today.

“I went through everything from his life and when his father used to beat the s**t out of him, I mean, everything.

“It’s pretty informative. I went down every little nook and cranny I could possibly turn in the interview.”

MADSEN’S FINAL DAYS

A source told The U.S. Sun that Madsen was struggling financially and was at risk of losing his home.

The insider, who worked with the Reservoir Dogs star on a project in recent months, was in touch with Madsen as recently as June 10.

“He called me on June 10 and said, ‘I’m getting evicted from my house,’ and he was asking me for $10,000 to help him out,” the source disclosed.

In another call before the June 10 chat, the source said Madsen swore he was going to rehab.

“He told me, ‘I’m going to rehab,’ and all this kind of stuff,” the insider added.

“He really opened up to me. It was clear he had a lot going on in his life that was difficult for him to navigate.

“He was in bad shape, man. You could tell he was drinking and he was all messed up.”

The source claimed that Madsen was also trying to sell his old cars to make money in his final months.

Madsen is survived by his six children.

Virginia Madsen's statement

Michael Madsen's younger sister, Virginia Madsen, paid tribute to him with the following statement on Thursday:

He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother—etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.

We’re not mourning a public figure. We’re not mourning a myth — but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes—gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable—half legend, half lullaby.

I’ll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I’ll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother.

Thank you to everyone reaching out with love and memory. In time, we’ll share how we plan to celebrate his life—but for now, we stay close, and let the silence say what words can’t.
