COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The largest fireworks show in the Midwest happens Thursday night in Columbus, and NBC4 is your home for all things Red, White & BOOM!
Fireworks will be launched from Genoa Park after a first-ever drone show starting at 10 p.m., and some 400,000 are expected to attend. NBC4 will offer live coverage beginning at 8 p.m. that can also be viewed in the video player above and on our streaming channel, NBC4 Columbus.
Before the fireworks, the entertainment lineup will take the stage at Bicentennial Park beginning at noon, and food and concessions will be available along the Midway and the Food Truck Alley.
Unsung heroes of Red, White & BOOM!At 6:30 p.m., the Ford Oval of Honor Parade honoring veterans will step off from the corner of Main and Second streets. The route will turn north along Front Street and end at Spring Street.
Storm Team 4 is calling for a warm evening. Meteorologist Bryan Still expects temperatures to reach the upper 80s during the afternoon with conditions by the fireworks launch to fall to the upper 70s.
"This will be one of the better forecasts that Columbus has seen for Boom! in a while. The dry conditions by the drone show and fireworks are very welcomed," he said. "But there is a strya chance for an isolated quick shower. Timing wise that would most likely occur between the hours of 4 pm-7 pm."
