The Indian opener once again set the tone for the visitors after England put Shubman Gill and Co into bat in Birmingham. Jaiswal smashed yet another half-century, much to the annoyance of opposition skipper Stokes.

Along with Karun Nair, Jaiswal stroked a fine partnership to put India in control of the proceedings.

With England on the backfoot, captain Ben Stokes and Yashasvi Jaiswal had an heated exchange. The duo had conversation while Jaiswal crossed over for a single, with the rumbling still going on while the left-hander was not on strike.
