It's already quickly approaching the lifetime sales of the Wii U, Nintendo's last sequel console, so it's safe to say the Switch 2 is off to a flying start.
Nintendo Switch 2 sales numbers: How many units have been sold?
At the time of writing, Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold more than 5 million units.
This was followed up on 1st July 2025, with Nintendo sharing on its official website that the console had sold 1.8m units in the Americas, 1.47m in Japan, 1.18m in Europe and 0.55m units in the rest of the world.
Nintendo has since removed this information from its website.

The Switch 1 is currently the second highest-selling home console of all time, sitting on 152m units sold, and following this strong start, Nintendo will be hoping that its successor can replicate those numbers in the long run.
