One person was dead and two others were injured in a shooting on Saturday afternoon at a gas station in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood, police stated.
The shooting occurred at around 3:56 p.m. at the Mobil gas station, 850 E. 63rd St. According to police, three men were inside the business when two armed suspects entered, displayed guns and opened fire.
A 31-year-old was struck multiple times and taken to an area hospital, where he died, police said. A second victim, a 25-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was hospitalized in good condition.
A 40-year-old man sustained a graze wound to the head and transported himself to the hospital. His condition was unknown. A 4-year-old boy was injured by glass fragments and taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
The gas station was blocked off by crime scene tape in the hours following the shooting.
An investigation remained underway late Saturday night.
