Holly Holm secured her first boxing win in 12 years, beating Yolanda Vega on the Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr undercard.
Holm hasn’t won in any combat sport since her last UFC victory which came in 2023, when she beat Yana Santos in the octagon.

But the ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ who famously KO’d Ronda Rousey in 2015 with a crazy head kick, has now signed with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
It saw her return to boxing at the age of 43 where she’d take on a stubborn Vega at the Honda Center.
And the veteran seriously impressed on the night against the undefeated 10-0 star.
Holm dominated the fight boxing comfortably across the 10 round distance.
A punch-perfect display was delivered and it saw her pick up a shut-out victory on the judges’ scorecards.
At the final bell, Holm was read out as the victor by unanimous decision at 100-90 on all of the cards.
She celebrated with a trademark back flip, and was jubilant at her return to the winning column in the squared circle this time.
It was a superb moment for Holm, who picked up her first victory in the sport since beating Mary McGee in 2012.
And the American was delighted with her display on the big stage again.

Holm now has one eye on the winner of Katie Taylor’s trilogy with Amanda Serrano next month.
She said: “I love kicking so much that I just loved MMA for awhile, but then I really started feeling this growing pain to want to box again, so it’s been fun to get back and just get those boxing arms going again.
“I wanted to finish early but also didn’t mind [going] ten rounds because I do want to fight for a title.
“Vega’s an undefeated fighter so I was glad to be up against somebody that’s tough and put my skills to the test to see how it feels again.”

“WBA women’s lightweight champion Stephanie Han would be great [next], and then also Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano.
“And I have respect for all three of them — it’s nothing but just, ‘Hey, let’s all chase our dreams.’ So we’ll just see where we go from here.”
Holm already has a historic career in the sport, making sixteen successful defences of world titles during her previous stint.
She is already listed in the Boxing Hall of Fame, and already possesses a legacy as one of the all-time greats.
But hunger is to return to the very top again as a pound-for-pound operator despite her ageing skillset.
Being one of an elite club to win world titles in boxing and MMA isn’t enough and a lucrative payday could be on the horizon.
