MCDONALD’S fans are all saying the same thing as they have days left to bag a sweet treat before it is gone for good.
It comes as the fast-food chain ends its brief partnership with a major brand.

After announcing the ambitious plan in March 2024, last month, both companies confirmed they were scrapping the rollout with Krispy Kreme struggling with sales.
Krispy Kreme donuts will no longer be available at McDonald’s after July 2, meaning time is running out for diners if they want to have an extra treat after their burger and fries.
“Ultimately, efforts to bring our costs in line with unit demand were unsuccessful, making the partnership unsustainable for us,” the companies said in a joint release on Tuesday.
But the news has left McDonald’s fans are confused as many raise a valid point that could have impacted the success of the partnership.
Reacting to the news on Facebook, many said the same thing.
“I didn’t even know this was a thing. Might be the issue lol,” one wrote.
“Maybe if we knew about this it would still be a thing,” another said.
“WAIT WHAAAATT. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THEY PARTNERED!!” a third added.
Others also highlighted how the two food giants made a huge error by not advertising the collaboration well enough.
“Their marketing must have been bad because this is the first time I hear about this,” one said.
“Wait, WHEN did Mickey D’s sell Krispy Kreme??? They coulda got PLENTY MONEY like Plies from me,” another disappointed customer said.
A third agreed adding: “I didn’t know either and they would have gotten my money.”
Meanwhile, those who were aware of the partnership are mourning its sudden end, saying, “it was good while it lasted”.
A sweet duo
McDonald’s has been teaming up with Krispy Kreme since 2022 to sell its doughnuts in select locations.
The two companies first tested the idea in 160 McDonald’s locations in Kentucky, with the success pushing their decision to team up permanently.
Their official partnership was set in March 2024, when Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s announced that a nationwide rollout would be complete by the end of 2026.
Before the collaboration was axed, foodies could expect to see three Krispy Kreme doughnut flavors at McDonald’s:
Original Glazed Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Chocolate Iced Kreme FilledTuesday’s joint statement highlighted that Krispy Kreme played a “small part” in the McDonald’s breakfast menu.
It also highlighted why many feel they were left out from the deal as the partnership had only rolled out to around 2,400 McDonald’s locations before being scrapped.
To put this in context, the fast-food giant has over 13,550 sites across the country.
JOINT STATEMENT
“We were excited and pleased to partner with Krispy Kreme,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer.
“We had strong collaboration with Krispy Kreme, and they delivered a great, high-quality product for us, and while the partnership met our expectations for McDonald’s and Owner/Operators, this needed to be a profitable business model for Krispy Kreme as well.”
The joint statement added that Krispy Kreme remains “focused on making its fresh doughnuts available in more places, not just to eat but to share, through its two largest opportunities: profitable U.S. expansion through high-volume retail points of distribution and capital-light international franchise growth.”
“Krispy Kreme represented a small, non-material part of McDonald’s breakfast business.”
“Breakfast is a core pillar of McDonald’s business strategy, and the company remains focused on delivering delicious, affordable and convenient options to help fans start their day.”
Meanwhile, McDonald’s is the subject of a boycott after making the same controversial move as Walmart and Target.
