ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say a 40-year-old man has been hospitalized after being shot Friday night.

Police say at around 6:45 p.m. Friday, they responded to Avenue D for shots heard. They then found out a person was shot on Avenue C, and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The victim was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital, and his status is unknown at this time. Police say this is an active investigation and ask anyone with information or video to call 911 or Crime Stoppers.
