Chris Brown was accused of being “evasive” when questioned under oath in a $90 million legal battle over an alleged vicious dog attack at his home, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by Us, the singer was deposed on April 30, after being ordered by the judge presiding over the case brought by Maria Avila, his former housekeeper.
In her recent filing, Avila claimed that Brown, 36, denied having any knowledge when asked about his surveillance systems in place at his home when she was attacked on December 12, 2020. The singer directed Avila to his security guard for more information.
Availa claimed that Brown was questioned about who the owner of the dog in question was. Brown said his business manager would have the information.

In the docs, the housekeeper alleged that Brown was being “evasive” with his answers in an attempt to “frustrate” her. Availa said Brown’s security guard did not have any information when pressed about the security camera footage. Brown has denied all the allegations against him.

In response, Brown’s legal team denied the claims that the singer was being evasive. They said Brown sat for five and a half hours of testimony.
“He was cooperative, respectful, patient, and honest. As he testified on the record, he has a team of people around him who handle everything for him; he has lived like this since he was a teenager. It is not unbelievable that he would not know the ins and outs of the security camera system in his home,” his lawyers noted.

In regard to the security footage, Brown claimed there is none or it was never recorded due to the cameras “having been broken on the date of the incident as a result of a break-in or robbery that had occurred on the property a few weeks prior.”
In her lawsuit, Availa claimed while taking out the trash she was attacked by a large Caucasian Orvchaka shepherd dog named Hades. Brown was inside the home at the time of the alleged attack.
The housekeeper alleged that Brown was more focused on getting rid of the dog before authorities arrived than he was of her wellbeing. Avila claimed the dog caused her serious injuries, including disfigurement.. She attached several gruesome photos of her alleged injuries to the documents filed in court. Her lawsuit demanded $90 million in damages.

“The injuries complained of by [Avila] were proximately caused by [Avail’s] misconduct in that she willfully and voluntarily teased, abused, or mistreated the dog and thereby provoked the attack,” Chris’ lawyer argued in court.
Brown claimed Avila told a different story about him when questioned by officials. His lawyer cited a report by the City of Los Angeles Department of Animal Services Investigation Report, where he alleged Availa was quoted as saying Brown called the paramedics and put Hades away after the alleged incident.”

His lawyer noted that Avila originally said Brown “ran” to her side and “even removed the dog from the area, perhaps putting himself in danger by doing so.”
The case is headed to trial.
As Us previously reported, last month, Brown was released from a London jail after putting up a bond of $6.7 million. He spent several days in jail after being picked up on a warrant for an alleged 2023 assault.
