Just a few miles away in the Town of Rush, a large sinkhole opened on Lyons Road, with that area still being closed.

Residents said the design of homes, with driveways sloping toward garages, contributes to flooding. Some have taken measures to prepare, such as replacing basement carpeting with vinyl flooring.
Kevin Haney, who lives on Blackwell Lane, experienced flooding last week and says all you can really do is brace for impact.
“There’s nothing you can do to stop it, if it’s going to flood, it’s going to flood,” Haney said. “Whether, you know, you can try to mitigate, you can put sandbags. Or if you want you can put seals down onto your garage doors, but water is going to get through. There’s nothing really anybody can do to stop it.”
News10NBC reached out to the Town of Henrietta to see if its doing anything to prevent a repeat of last week.
The Henrietta Fire Department responded to more than 100 calls during last week’s storms. Neighbors said they have never seen anything like what they’ve seen this year.
