A RESTAURANT chain whose competitors include the likes of Taco Bell is reopening locations – months after abruptly closing 17 of its stores.
Fans were left in the dark when the raft of Del Taco restaurants suddenly closed in one state.

A Del Taco store in Colorado Springs has reopened, as reported by The Denver Post.
Restaurants in Lone Tree and Firestone are also open.
Chiefs have confirmed that the restaurants will reopen gradually.
Bosses told the Denver Post they are grateful to customers for being patient during the process.
The restaurants had been closed since February and shoppers were told they would remain shut until further notice.
Del Taco has been part of the American Tex-Mex scene since 1964 and has 590 sites across the US, according to its website.
The first Del Taco location opened in Yermo, California – located around 128 miles from Los Angeles.
By comparison, there are more than 8,000 Taco Bell restaurants across the US.
The U.S. Sun previously reported that Taco Bell was closing some of its retro-style locations with histories that date back to the 1960s.
One store in Scottsdale, Arizona, was slated to close on April 12.
But Del Taco has bragging rights as it was voted America’s favorite fast-food chain, as per USA Today’s Readers Choice.
It staved off competition from Chick-fil-A, which prevailed in the 2023 contest.
Brands such as KFC and In-N-Out Burger were left trailing in Del Taco’s wake.

Popeyes, Zaxby’s, and Arby’s rounded off the top 10.
Del Taco is also in the running to retain its USA Readers Choice title.
Again, the chain faces competition from Arby’s, Chick-fil-A, KFC, and Taco Bell.
Popular brands such as Raising Cane’s and McDonald’s are also in the running for the coveted title.
Fans can vote from a list of 20 restaurants and the poll closes on Monday, July 7.
The top 10 restaurants will be named on July 16.
