Denis Villeneuve, director of the "Dune" series, will direct the next James Bond film, the first under Amazon MGM Studios. Produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman, this marks a new chapter for the franchise as Villeneuve brings his cinematic vision to the iconic spy saga.While no official title has been announced, speculation is rife among Bond aficionados. Villeneuve's involvement signals a departure from the more grounded, character-driven approach of the Daniel Craig era, potentially embracing a more visually spectacular and philosophically complex narrative. Pascal, known for her work on the "Spider-Man" franchise, and Heyman, the producer behind the "Harry Potter" films, bring considerable blockbuster experience to the table. The film is expected to begin shooting in late 2024, with a projected release date in 2025. The casting of the new Bond is, as always, the subject of intense scrutiny, with names like Henry Cavill and James Norton frequently mentioned in connection with the coveted role.

Villeneuve is about to start shooting a third Dune film, Dune: Messiah, which is currently scheduled for a 2026 release. He is also attached to direct a historical drama about Cleopatra, an adaptation of Arthur C Clarke’s science fiction novel Rendezvous with Rama, and an adaptation of a science fiction short story by South Korean writer Kim Bo-young.
 James Bond movie to be released dates back to 2021’s No Time To Die, which also saw Daniel Craig portray the titular 007 agent for the last time. Actors rumored to take on the role next have included Idris Elba, James Norton, Theo James, Callum Turner and Harris Dickinson, with the latest name being Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Most recently, blockbusters Dune and Dune: Part Two grossed a combined total of more than $1bn (£730m) worldwide, with both films nominated for Best Picture Oscars in their respective years.
