But not everything is smooth-sailing when she crosses paths with magical gangster Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos), and over the course of the series, it's technology against magic as Riri finds her footing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, determined to make her mark on the world.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com, executive producer Chinaka Hodge opened up on Natalie, describing her as "the most fun", almost as a person "you want to hang around all the time" – but it has its limits.
