(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Good Wednesday morning! Tracking another day of dangerous heat, but we will also be monitoring the threat for severe storms later this afternoon and evening.
It is an uncomfortably warm and muggy start to Wednesday morning, with temperatures already in the mid-to-upper 70s. High temperatures will climb into the sweltering mid-to-upper 90s in the afternoon, feeling like triple digits when you factor in the heat index and/or feels-like temps!
Continue to drink plenty of water, take breaks, and wear lightweight or loose clothing on Wednesday to prevent overheating.
We have issued a Pinpoint Weather Alert for Wednesday afternoon and evening due to the chance of severe storms.
Storms will develop during the late afternoon and continue into the evening. Each storm will have the chance of producing damaging wind gusts and isolated large hail.
We will slowly dry out through the overnight hours, with temperatures falling back into the 70s.
Slightly cooler for Thursday, but still toasty, with high temperatures in the mid-90s and feels-like temperatures once again in the triple digits. We will track a few more storms for Thursday, with the isolated threat of gusty winds.
Low to mid-90s stay in the forecast through the weekend, with general summertime afternoon and evening storm chances.
Stay safe with the heat and remember to check on each other!
