Dunkin’ has added the Strawberry Dream Dunkin’ Refresher, as well as the Braided Apple Pie for those looking for something savory.
The other new items include a Blueberry Breeze drink, a Star Spangled Speciality Donut for July 4 and a Summer Beach Munchkins Bucket.
For a snack that’s a bit more substantial, the new menu also features the Chipotle Hash Brown Wake Up Wrap.
The news was released via social media, and left many fans excited to taste the new treats for themselves.
In the comments of a Instagram post, one person wrote: “Strawberry dream??? Oh i need that.”
Someone else added: “The strawberry dream sounds good.”
And some love was shown for the new apple pie: “Now I’m hungry.”
MATCHA QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED
But one of the new items, despite being based on one of the most popular coffees right now, has left people confused.
Matcha is the hottest coffee trend right now, made up of a ground powder of green tea specially processed from shade-grown tea leaves.
The drink is known for its bright-green color and strong umami flavor, and is very popular on social media.
Dunkin’ is following the trend with its new addition, the Matcha Process, but some are puzzled as to what that actually means.
In the comments of the post, one curious customer asked: “What is a matcha process.”
There is no detail on the post to explain what a Matcha Process is, or if it is a different kind of Matcha.
The US Sun has reached out to Dunkin’ for clarification, and did not hear back immediately.
The summer menu at Dunkin’ is available from June 25 through August 19, and includes some exclusive items through the app.
This includes a Mint Chocolate Chip Signature Latte, Cookie Dough Cold Foam Iced Latte and Bacon Egg & Cheese on Plain Bagel.
Other drinks on the summer menu include the Cherry Berry Twist, Peach Cherry Twist and the Golden Hour Refresher.
This summer, Dunkin’ has also brought back its free refill policy at a location in McAllen, Texas.
The policy kicked in from Monday, and requires customers to bring in their special branded Dunkin’ cup to get the free coffee.
Dunkin’ has followed in the footsteps of Starbucks, which also brought back free refills for drinks bought in store.
