PINEVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- An electric outage is planned for many Pineville residents Wednesday morning as temperatures have soared into the upper-90s this week.
Town officials announced that the outage is scheduled for 4-4:45 a.m. It effects areas of downtown, west of Lancaster Highway and south of the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the town said in the announcement.
The outages will occur in the area in red. (Town of Pineville)The temperature is forecast to be 79 degrees during that time.

Duke Energy has offered ways to conserve energy during the heat wave, in an effort to prevent any local outages.
