Daniil Medvedev was once caught up in a bizarre feud after being accused of cheating in training.
The former world number one admitted he angered a rival during a practice session at Wimbledon.
Medvedev found himself embroiled in a bizarre feud with Taylor Fritz following the incident.
The pair had trained together at SW19 prior to their rises to the top of the sport.
They could renew their rivalry in London next week with both players set to be seeded for this year’s tournament.
However, Medvedev revealed last year that the pair have a ‘good relationship’ despite their awkward exchange.
During an interview at the 2024 US Open, the Russian was asked if players cheat during practice.
Recalling his clash with Fritz, he explained: “We played Wimbledon, it was probably 2018 or 2019, so long ago.
“We were both not where we are right now, and I’m brutally honest, I don’t want to cheat in practice, but sometimes you don’t see the ball.”
Medvedev continued: “So we were playing, and I don’t remember exactly what it was, but I called some outs where I thought the ball was out.
“Then my wife, I think at the time she was maybe even a girlfriend to me, says that he was talking to his coach and was like, ‘Damn, this guy cheats all the time.'”
Despite Fritz’s claims, he said: “We didn’t really speak to each other, so we were not like friends. We’re still not friends, but we are, I think, in a good relationship.

Medvedev and Fritz have since met twice on-court in their professional singles careers.
The pair have claimed a win apiece in those meetings but could be set for another clash next month.
Fritz is currently heading into Wimbledon as the world number five as he continues his preparations at Eastbourne.
Meanwhile, Medvedev finds himself ninth in the ATP Rankings.
The duo each have one win to their name across their two career meetingsGettyThe 29-year-old is already a Grand Slam winner, though, after US Open glory in 2021.
His best performances at Wimbledon have been in the last two years after reaching back-to-back semi-finals.
As for Fritz, the American is a two-time quarter-finalist in 2022 and 2024.
