“Consumers are looking for value and convenience more than ever, and we’re excited to continue to bring those qualities to the community,” said Ross Stores, Inc. CEO, Jim Conroy, in a statement.
The new stores include a second Market Street location in San Francisco, California, where the company is also making a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco.
Also in California, a new 25,000-square-foot store is opening at the Euclid Shopping Center in Anaheim.
In Minnesota, two stores are opening in Woodbury and Savage, with charitable donations going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Twin Cities and Harriet Bishop Elementary.
A customer from Savage shared her excitement over the new opening.
“I noticed they are putting a Ross in next to Target in Savage,” wrote a Facebook user.
“Omg I’m so excited I LOVED in Ross in Hawaii!!
“It’s way better than TJ max [sic] or Marshall’s! Yayy!”
Another user declared that they would visit the location.
Two more locations will open in Adrian, Michigan, with donations going toward the Boys & Girls Club of Lenawee.
Three new stores will open in the New York City area in Hempstead, New York, and West Long Branch and Brick, New Jersey
In New Mexico, a 21,000 square-foot location will open in the North Plains Mall Shopping Center in Clovis.
Lastly, a 22,000 square-foot location will open in Nashville, Tennessee, at the South Plaza Shopping Center.
According to Conroy, each store is expected to create 55 to 90 new jobs, including full and part-time roles.
This is only part of Ross Stores‘ major expansions this year, as in March alone, the company opened 16 locations and three dd’s DISCOUNT in 14 different states.
“This Spring, we continued to expand the store base of both Ross and dd’s,” said Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President, Property Development, in a statement.
“Specifically for Ross, we expanded our presence in the newer markets of Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York, while dd’s growth primarily focused on existing markets of California, Georgia, and Texas.
“We now operate a total of 2,205 Ross Dress for Less and dd’s DISCOUNTS locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.
“As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,900 locations and dd’s DISCOUNTS can become a chain of 700 stores given consumers’ ongoing focus on value and convenience.”
