Florida’s 2027 recruiting class finally has a name attached to it, with the Gators getting their first commitment for 2027 from 4-star in-state wide receiver Tramond Collins.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder from Cottondale, Fla., told On3 of his commitment to Florida on Saturday night. It was a significant recruiting win for Florida in that it was its first 2027 commitment and also because getting Collins to stay in-state kept him from the clutches of SEC rivals Tennessee and Auburn, who were also in the mix.
“Finally home, Go Gators,” Collins told On3.

— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) June 22, 2025According to the 247 Composite rankings, Collins is the 179th-ranked player in the class of 2027. Collins is also the 8th-ranked athlete and the 16th-ranked player from the state of Florida.
Collins is technically classified as an athlete in the Composite rankings, and in general sports terms he absolutely is an all-around athlete. He’s established himself in track and basketball in addition to being a highly-sought after football recruit.
As a sophomore, Collins was a region champion in the 200-meter dash. Collins also averaged double-figures at Cottondale as a basketball player during his sophomore season.
And on the football field, where Florida is looking forward to seeing him in 2027, Collins is as versatile as they come. He was used at a number of positions during his sophomore season, including quarterback, receiver and defensive back.
