ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The most uncomfortable weather of the season is set to arrive for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It will be the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity that will create oppressive conditions for all of Western New York. High temperatures will be in the low to middle 90s which will challenge the records for each day. The heat index, which is the combination of temperature and humidity, will make it feel like 100 degrees at times. As a result, the News10NBC meteorologists have issued a yellow alert for each of the next three days. Watch for heat related illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
The excessive amounts of heat and humidity should begin to lessen by later Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front passes Western New York. This should drop the temperature and humidity to more reasonable levels.
