(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Good Saturday morning and welcome to the weekend!
We are tracking a relatively comfortable start this morning; it is a tad humid out there, but on the lower side for the summer season. After starting in the mid to upper 60s this morning, high temperatures will quickly warm into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. Expect plenty of sunshine and dry conditions.
The forecast is almost identical for Sunday, except there will be a slight increase in humidity and high temperatures, making it feel a little more uncomfortable outdoors. Temperatures will start in the 70s for the most part Sunday morning, with high temperatures more towards the low to mid 90s.
Next week, anticipate unbearable heat across the entire region, except for the mountains. High temperatures on Monday will surge into the mid to upper 90s, but it will feel like 100 degrees at times to start the week.
Tuesday and Wednesday will feature high temperatures in the upper 90s and possibly in the triple digits in a few spots, especially southeast of Charlotte! Even if we don't hit 100 degrees, it will certainly feel like it. We are expecting 105-110 degree feels like temperatures through the middle of next week.
Even late next week, high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will still be present, with feels-like temperatures in the 100s. The only difference between Thursday and Friday is that we may have a few cooling afternoon showers and storms to track.
Please take care of yourself and each other through this heat wave. Check on your neighbors, the elderly, and those who are sensitive to this kind of heat.
