(KRON) – Notebooks with dozens of social security numbers and stolen credit cards were found in a black van that caught the eye of an alert citizen, said the Colma Police Department.
At 8:06 p.m. on June 12, Colma police officers were waved down by a person near the Best Buy on Colma Boulevard. According to Colma PD, the citizen informed police of a suspicious man sitting inside a black van.
Officers were informed by dispatch that the man had a $10,000 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. As officers made contact with the suspect, they noticed drug paraphernalia “in plain sight.” Police then detained the suspect, who was later identified as San Francisco resident Anthony Banchero.
Colma PD said officers found numerous ID cards not belonging to Banchero, drugs, and notebooks and paperwork containing social security numbers of more than 20 people.
Photo: Colma PDOfficers also found a purse that belonged to a woman with her identification card and a lock-picking kit. She was identified as San Francisco resident Olivia Holmquist and Banchero’s girlfriend.
Loss prevention officer punched while detaining suspect: PDAccording to the police investigation, Holmquist had three misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. When she returned to the van, she was detained. Numerous credit cards that were not in her name were found in her wallet.
Police contacted one of the victims, whose name was on the card. The victim said her credit card was stolen out of her mailbox.
Banchero was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for theft with priors, misappropriation of lost property, possession of personal identification with intent to defraud, possession of a controlled substance and his warrant.
Holmquist was also arrested and booked for receiving known stolen property, possession of burglary tools and her warrants.
