ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Ford and Honda have declared recalls for hundreds of thousands of cars across the U.S.
Ford is recalling more than 300,000 Mustang Mach-E electric SUVs. People in the backseat can get trapped if the car’s battery is low and someone in the front gets out and locks the door. Ford expects to release a software patch to fix the issue in late September.
Honda and its luxury sub-brand Acura has issued recalls for the 2023 to 2025 Honda Pilot, the 2021 to 2025 Acura TLX, and the 2023 to 2025 MDX. Some of the cars left the factory without brake pedals pinned in place, allowing the brake to move out of position while driving. Anyone with these cars can take it to a dealership for free repair.
So far, there have been no reports of injuries.
