Before Fabio Wardley established himself as a world-level heavyweight, he learnt his trade as a sparring partner for the division’s biggest stars.
The Ipswich puncher turned over as a professional in 2017 with a handful of white collar bouts under his belt.

Among the long list of names he has shared rounds with are the two current reigning heavyweight champions, Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk.
The boxing titans are set to put all four of their belts on the line on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in an undisputed title fight, three years removed from their inaugural encounter.
Usyk knocked out Dubois the first time around in Wroclaw, Poland, but ‘Triple D’ has shown vast improvements en route to establishing himself as the IBF title holder.
Despite this, Wardley anticipates his fellow countryman will fall to the same fate.
“It’s still a fantastic fight. Dubois has had a lot of growing since his first time out with Usyk,” Wardley told Pro Boxing Fans.
“It still makes for a very intriguing fight, but I do think, for the most part, it will go the same way.
“That is not to take anything away from Dubois and his progression over time.
“But ultimately, I just think Usyk is a hard man to bet against.”
Usyk may have blasted Dubois away inside the distance, but he did so under controversial circumstances.
Dubois dropped Usyk with a shot that divided fans in their first fightGetty Usyk was given time to recover and went on to stop DuboisGettyEn route to the eventual stoppage, Dubois dropped Usyk in the fifth round with a blow that divided fans.
Some claimed the punch, which decked Usyk for several minutes, was a legal body shot.
Meanwhile, others insisted it had strayed low.
The referee ultimately determined that it was an illegal punch, and so Usyk was given four minutes to recover before rebounding to stop Dubois with a stiff jab in the ninth stanza.
Dubois admits he wasn’t ruthless enough in their first fight, and that is something he intends to rectify when they run it back next month.
“I’ve changed. I’ve learn from that,” Dubois told talkSPORT.com.
Dubois will get an opportunity to exact his revenge on July 19Getty“There were a lot of things going into that fight. I’ve learnt from it now. I’m going to put it right.
“There’s been a lot of pain from what happened last time. So I want to get my revenge.
“I need to be more clinical, I need to be better, I need to be more vicious, take no prisoners and get the job done.
“I’m nailing him to the canvas this time.
“When I close my eyes, I see a spectacular win, a spectacular knockout.”
