WALMART has been forced to investigate after a shopper left a store empty-handed due to a glaring shelf problem.
It comes after Donald Trump raged at Walmart to “eat the tariffs.”

The person shared a photo on X, showing an entire row of seven empty shelves.
The irritated shopper posted, “Yeah, @Walmart, I didn’t need groceries tonight.”
A Walmart spokeperson responded, “We’d live to know about this, could you please send us a DM?”
The shopper confirmed, “Sure, this is the current state of your store in Martin TN.”
Meanwhile, one man reported on social media on Monday that he had seen “empty shelves at Walmart in Evansville, Indiana.”
Similar posts accompanied by pics of shockingly bare aisles prompted another to suggest, “are people stocking up?”
But one woman vowed to switch to a Walmart competitor.
She wrote, “Walmart states they are planning to raise prices. They are saying that there will be empty shelves and shortages… OK.
“But lately I’ve noticed the prices have already been going up, and the quality and value of their products have gone down drastically, and there is already less options to choose from, especially produce.
“I will not let Walmart bully or try to use scare tactics on me… I’ll shop elsewhere with no problem at all! I just solved the problem they tried to impose on me.”
ECONOMIC FREEDOM
And one man stated, “Many Americans have given their lives defending our freedoms including economic freedom.
“I can suffer empty shelves at Walmart for a long time.”
The U.S. Sun has contacted Walmart for comment on the empty shelves.
SHORTAGES
However, the current economic landscape has been sending shockwaves throughout the retail sector, and causing problems for suppliers and customers.
Shoppers in the United States have been reporting that one of the big impacts is empty shelves across multiple stores – not just Walmart branches – because of product shortages.
This has been pegged to the international trade war and tariff troubles, which experts have warned are causing disruptions in the supply chain.
The president hopes to revamp the States’ economy, reset global trading relationships, and boost domestic manufacturing.
PRICE HIKES
Trump has ranted at firms to not hike prices — including Ford and Mattel.
Retailers, including Walmart, have warned consumers about rising prices amid his hectic tariff rollout.
But a bombastic Trump thundered on Truth Social last month, “Walmart should STOP trying to blame Tariffs as the reason for raising prices throughout the chain.
“Between Walmart and China they should, as is said, ‘EAT THE TARIFFS,’ and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!”
HIGH TARIFFS
His blast followed comments by Walmart Chief Financial Officer John Rainey.
He told CNBC in May the tariffs are “still too high” despite an agreement to lower duties on imports from China to 30% for 90 days.
Rainey said, “We’re wired for everyday low prices, but the magnitude of these increases is more than any retailer can absorb.
“It’s more than any supplier can absorb.
“And so I’m concerned that consumer is going to start seeing higher prices.
“You’ll begin to see that, likely towards the tail end of this month, and then certainly much more in June.”

John Rainey, Walmart CFOIn the fiscal first quarter, Walmart’s net income fell to $4.49 billion, or 56 cents per share, compared with $5.10 billion, or 63 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
COURT WIN
Last Wednesday, Trump hailed a favorable decision by a federal appeals court over his sweeping tariff policy as a “great” win for the United States.
He said on his social media site that the decision to let the government keep collecting his sweeping import taxes – while challenges to his signature trade policy continue on appeal – means the U.S. “can use TARIFFS to protect itself against other countries.”
“A great and important win for the U.S.,” Trump wrote.
