Crean Lutheran’s list of football transfers to watch grew on Tuesday with the enrollment of cornerback Evan Mack from Long Beach Wilson, Saints coach Rick Curtis confirmed.
Mack, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound junior, also plays basketball, Curtis said.
Mack is the No. 15 overall recruit in California’s Class of 2027 according to 247Sports. California appears especially strong at defensive back for 2027.
Crean Lutheran’s offseason additions also include senior defensive lineman James Carrington from Bishop Gorman of Nevada, junior wide receiver Ty Johnson from Lampasas of Texas, senior wide receiver/defensive back Bryce Coleman from Loyola and junior athlete Damari Hall from Narbonne.
Carrington (6-2, 257) is committed to Florida State. He recorded nine sacks last season at Nevada state champion Bishop Gorman and ranks as the No. 34 overall recruit in California for 2026 according to 247Sports.
Johnson (6-2, 186) is rated by 247Sports as the state’s No. 3 wide receiver for the class of 2027.
Last season, he had 68 receptions for 955 yards and 10 TDs for a team that reached the state 4A Division 1 playoffs in Texas.
Coleman (6-4, 195) had 39 receptions for 510 yards and five TDs last season at Loyola.
Hall will observe the Southern Section’s sitout period, Curtis said.
Crean Lutheran opens the season by playing host to Mullen of Colorado on Aug. 22.
