One hurt in shooting on I-85 near Mecklenburg-Gaston County line: Medic ...Middle East

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person has been taken to the hospital after a shooting on Interstate 85, according to the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic).

Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, officials reported that a person was shot at or near the weigh station on I-85 southbound between Moores Chapel Road and the Catawba River. This is outside of Charlotte, near the county line with Gaston County. ,

One person with life-threatening injuries was taken to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Medic says.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or if anyone has been arrested. It is unclear where exactly the shooting happened.
