Texas A&M has landed a commitment from Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall athlete Kaeden Johnson
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Johnson announced his commitment on his Instagram page. In the announcement, he said it has been his goal to play in the SEC “ever since I was little.” He took an official visit to Washington State at the end of May, but an OV to College Station this week convinced him to stay home.
Johnson has been a 2-year starter at quarterback for Fort Bend Marshall. Multiple reports, however, state he will join the Aggies’ tight end room. GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley reported that Johnson could be a utility player within the Aggies’ offense, with special packages designed to utilize his athletic ability.
He picked Texas A&M over Washington State and Colorado. FIU, UTEP, and UTSA were also in on his recruitment.
Johnson is a 3-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s ranked No. 150 in the state of Texas and No. 988 in the national player rankings.
As a junior last fall, Johnson threw for 25 touchdowns and ran for 6 more. He produced 2,680 yards of total offense while averaging 8.1 yards per pass attempt and 5.4 yards per run. Johnson also starred for a Fort Bend Marshall basketball squad that went 37-3 last season.
Johnson becomes the 15th known commitment for Texas A&M coach Mike Elko in the 2026 cycle. The Aggies are currently working on a top-10 class that also features one other commitment at tight end — California 4-star Caleb Tafua.
