I’ve sparred Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte – but one will be KO’d very quickly ...Middle East

Lawrence Okolie sees Moses Itauma being too much for Dillian Whyte having shared sparring rounds with both.

Itauma and Whyte have just had their huge all-British heavyweight clash confirmed for August 16 in Saudi Arabia.

It will be the young prodigy of Itauma looking to make his latest step towards the world level mix at the age of just 20.

But Whyte, a seasoned veteran who has fought Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, will be looking to derail the hype train.

Okolie, a current heavyweight, has been tried and tested by the opposing pair in previous training.

“Moses is on a great run, a good trajectory,” he said in a short and concise prediction to The Stomping Ground.

“So when they do fight, I think Moses will KO him in quick fashion, so yeah, good luck to him.”

‘The Sauce’ will share some frustration that is not himself who is sharing the ring with Whyte.

Talks were reportedly held over a showdown with Okolie pleading for the match-up with his bitter rival, but it has failed to materialise.

Instead Itauma will get his chance against a big name, a fight which could see his name catapult into new superstardom.

A statement KO could see him instantly catapult into being the hottest property in the division.

The 12-0 heavyweight is on a serious hot streak with 11 professional wins so far, including his booming KO of Mike Balogun in May.

Meanwhile for Whyte, it is a huge opportunity to restore his reputation after a frustrating period.

Whyte fought twice in 2024, and even struggled to a resilient Ebenezer Tetteh at the back end of the year.

The ‘Body Snatcher’ was then due to face Joe Joyce in February but suffered an injury.

He then looked set to get a run-out on the Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni bill, but the bout collapsed.

Itauma could even go into the contest as a surprising favourite, given he seems destined for the big-time and is deemed practically invincible right now.

And current heavyweight Dave Allen agrees with Okolie’s prediction.

He added: “My early prediction would be an Itauma stoppage, in a couple of rounds as well.

“It’s all about the timing. Even the best Dillian Whyte would be a hard ask [for him] because Itauma is a real scary talent.

“They’re getting Whyte at the right time, he’s 37, not been in the ring for a long time. So I think Itauma will stop him pretty early.”
